Monday, 22 March 2010

I have changed a few things on my double page spread. i have changed the masthead size and font because it needed to be bigger and i much prefer this font to the other one on the past layout. I have changed the color of the bit of font from purple to red, i did this because its easier to read as red and also links in with the font color used on a bit of my contents page and red is used on my front cover. I added more media language(EXCLUSIVE) to give the reader a sense of importance about this interview.

Double page spread

this is the image after it had been edited on photo shop, is used the magnetic lasso tool to cut out prissily this image. i then saved it to my pictures and then inserted the file into my double page spread document. i then put it where i thought best and put it at the right size.

this is the image i am going to use to for my double page spread, i am going to use photo shop to cut it out and put on the double page spread. i will cut and crop the image down to the appropriate size and the save it to then insert in publisher.

the changing of the layout

I changed the layout, i did this because i believe it will look better with the image. Also with the media language "Interview with The Harleys" being above the interview links together.

start of the double page spread

This is the start of my double page spread, i have the masthead in the top left hand corner and the media language on the left hand side of the two pages. I will edit my photo the then locate on the right hand side of the page, this will be the fourth image used that i had taken.

This is the layout i have chose for my double page spread, i have chosen to go with a darkish background instead of a light one. i have chosen to use light writing on the dark background because it looks professional and smart. i will use one of my images that i took and edit on photo shop, i will then transfer it onto this publisher to do the double page spread.

Contents

These 3 print screens show the progression of the contents page, i started off with a background image and changed it to black and white. This image is a photo taken by myself, it is a low angle shot. i then used photo shop to change it to black and white. the next step was to add the title and the second self taken image. i used the magnetic lasso tool to edit this second image to cut around the 3 people and the instruments. I then did the title using the writting tool. and change the font and size. after this i did the writing, once again i used this using the writing tool to changed the font and the colour.

front cover

This is the final outcome of my frontcover, i have large bold font for the masthead and la3rg bold writing for one of the headlines going accros the main image, i used red writting for the subheading to match the bacground behind the main image. A little bit of editing is needed to make the image look as clear and as well cut and possable.

front cover draft

This is the final layout for my front cover, i have put alot of thought into what goes where and i came to a final decision to do it like this. The masthead will be located at the in the top left with the bar code, date and issue number will be located in the top right hand corner. The main image will be on around 80% of the page and will have a red background. while the masthead and subheading will have a blue background. the main image will be of one taken by me.
